Experience You Can Build On
With deep roots in prestressed concrete, construction, and product innovation, our team is redefining what’s possible in outdoor building materials.
Thomas McEvoy
Founder & CEO
Building materials that actually hold up in the real world.
Tom’s career has been rooted in one question: what actually performs over time? From leading High Concrete, a premier prestressed concrete manufacturer, to working with U.S. Plastic Lumber, he saw firsthand where traditional and synthetic materials fall short. That perspective led to a simple but powerful realization - prestressed concrete could do far more than it was being used for.
LumberCon was built from that insight: bringing proven structural performance into applications like decking, docks, and outdoor structures where durability matters most.
What Tom brings to the team:
- Leadership experience across global manufacturing and product development
- Deep expertise in prestressed concrete systems and performance
- A long-term mindset focused on durability, strength, and lifecycle value
Tom believes better materials should outlast the environments they’re built for.

Ken Baur
Engineering
Ensuring performance isn’t assumed - it’s proven.
Ken brings decades of engineering leadership and deep involvement in the standards that shape the precast concrete industry. Through his work with the Precast Concrete Institute, he has helped guide research, influence industry practices, and contribute to the technical benchmarks used across certified production facilities today.
From leading major research initiatives, including a $550,000 study on prestress bond in self-consolidating concrete, to advising on national committees, Ken’s work goes beyond theory. It directly impacts how materials are tested, validated, and trusted in real-world applications.
What Ken brings to the team:
- Extensive expertise in prestressed concrete engineering and performance
- Leadership in industry research, standards, and technical development
- Multi-state licensed Professional Engineer (PA, MD, NY, NJ, DE)
- LEED-accredited perspective on sustainable building practices
Ken is focused on making sure every claim is backed by real performance.
